New York’s “fake spring” has been in full effect this month, teasing us with thoughts of warmer weather. Our Bride of the Month also has sunshine on the mind with her sea-inspired tabletop. Haviland’s Portofino is inspired by the oceanic colors of the village which is known for its golden reflections and blue hues. Mosaics have been in use since ancient Roman times, which Haviland pays homage to in their use of 30 different mosaics for this collection.
To add to our luxurious seaside retreat, our blushing bride has adorned her table with radiant sterling silver seashells. These seaside accessories remain close to the theme as they are made in Italy as well.
To play off the architectural components, we have chosen Christofle’s Hudson Flatware. Designed in 1939, this collection was inspired by the popular Art Deco architecture of the time.
Giving a platform to this very inspired tabletop is the red Filigree placemat.
While some of us may still be dreaming of warmer weather, let us be like our BOTM and look to the sea.
