Pantone chose Emerald 17-5641 as the Color of the Year for 2013, describing it as “Lively. Radiant. Lush… A color of elegance and beauty that enhances our sense of well-being, balance and harmony.”

Green traverses the senses, evoking feelings associated with mother nature, health and well-being, and lushness.  Think of freshly cut grass or rustling trees.  Or, healthy foods such as spinach and kale.  Unlike red or yellows, green emits a certain calmness, lending elegance to all it touches.  In home decor, it offers a fresh and lively touch to any setting.
